She's like a windowpane
Easy to see through she fragile and often open
And she tries to hide her shame
But disguising her surface won't keep her from being broken

'Cause there's no decorative coverings
No beautiful etching or staining
That'll keep her glass from weathering
Inner strength can only come with proper tempering

And she's like a candle's flame
Shining so brightly requiring the room to embrace her
But a candle's light only remains
Burning until the wax eventually engulfs her

And she's like a slab of clay
Feeling so dirty she hopes to be washed away
Resistant to the potter's hands she crumbles and breaks
Wondering if her stubbornness was her biggest mistake

And when we're broken, can we be fused together again?
And when we're burnt out, can our light still shine again?
And can we be built up by the potter's hands?
